Maldives government contracts Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) for three developmental projects worth over MVR 100 million.
On Wednesday, August 24, MTCC Chief Executive Offer Adam Azim signed the multi-project contracts on behalf the corporation while Zeeniya Hameed, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (MNPHI) signed on behalf of the state.
Under the Maduvvari harbor development project, MTCC will dredge and excavate 38,800 cubic-meters for the harbor, another 54,093 cubic-meters for channel dredging and land reclamation in an area of 111,471 cubic-meters.
Other components include construction of a 600-meter breakwater and a 122-meter revetment structure.
While project value is reported at MVR 51 million, the contractor will complete the project under 16 months.
Shore protection project in Raa atoll Ungoofaaru include construction of a 120-meter breakwater structure with the development of a groyne structure spanning 110 meters. Additional components include beach-filling of 16,830 cubic meters of sand.
Project value is reported at MVR 11 million, while MTCC is expected to complete shore protection initiative under six months.
The shore protection project in Meemu atoll Mulah includes construction of a 539-meter breakwater structure, along with 343 meters of revetment development, and beach-filling with 14,548.25 cubic meters of sand.
The project is worth MVR 38.9 million, with a completion period of 15 months.
