Maldives Police Service on Tuesday, revealed that a carpenter was found dead inside a carpentry in Mulah, Meemu Atoll.
According to Police, the carpenter was found at approximately 0500 hrs with a 9-inch gash on his chest and a running electric saw next to him.
He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Mulah Health Centre.
As per local media Mihaaru, Mulah Council member Ashraf Jamsheed revealed that the 44-year-old was a relative of the carpentry's owner, adding that work usually concludes at 1700 hrs during the day. However, Ashraf noted that the man was elsewhere when the carpentry closed at roughly 2230 hrs on Monday.
The police are currently investigating the matter.
