TreeHotel offers a one-of-a-kind hotel experience: contemporary tree rooms in the midst of an untouched environment. TreeHotel is situated in Harads, near the Lule river, about 100 kilometers from Luleå airport. The unique hotel experience has reached milestones in its popularity where people go to forget about the pressures of everyday life, relax, and revitalize in a classy yet comfortable setting.
Kent and Britta Lindvall, couple and co-owners, founded TreeHotel in 2010 with a focus on modern design and the environment. TreeHotel's first rooms, which were designed in collaboration with a number of Scandinavian designers, with elaborately designed rooms ranging from the "Mirrorcube"; completely camouflaged by mirrored walls to the "Bird's Nest"; the exterior of the room designed like a literal birds nest.
TreeHotel's commitment to sustainability and ecological tourism is bolstered by Biosphere, the newest addition, which aids in the conservation of the local bird species. TreeHotel intends to reduce the decreasing spiral of the bird population in the Swedish woodlands by strengthening the biosphere and natural habitat with a façade featuring 340 bird nests.
The interior is simple and functional, but the checker solid-open conceptual make-up allows for a variety of experiences in a compact space. Visitors have access to a roof terrace that offers 360-degree views of the forest and is located near the treetop canopies. The spherical rooms give visitors the chance to be fully present in the little miracles of nature, wrapped up in an immersive ecological habitat.
