Police have said that they have observed a decrease in the number of crimes reported over the past two months.
In a post on social media platform X, Police Spokesperson Assistant Commissioner of Police Ahmed Shifan said that the number of crimes reported in September are fewer than that in August.
Shifan attributed this reduction to the positive impact of the Local Frontline Policing adopted under their strategic plan.
The most reported crime in August was theft and robbery. During the month, 327 cases of theft were reported, with the number going down to 230 in September.
Traffic incidents also lowered from 204 in August to 143 last month.
The third most prevalent crime in August was drugs related offences, with 134 cases. September saw the number at 111.
