Local telecom giant Dhiraagu has announced that its Dhiraagu TV outlet will broadcast SAFF Suzuki Cup 2018, the largest football competition that Maldives takes part in.
The competition which starts on Wednesday will be broadcast on channel 106 ‘Dhi Sports’ of DhiraaguTV.
Maldives is scheduled to kick off its first match on Friday against Sri Lanka, with Maldives facing India afterwards. Only the top two teams will proceed to the semi-finals following the group stage.
The competition, which is held in Bangladesh, saw its first match between Nepal and Pakistan, with Pakistan proving victorious with 2 goals to 1.
SAFF Suzuki Cup is the most prestigious football competition in Southeast Asia. The Maldives won the title once, besting neighbouring India 1-0 in 2008.
