MSTS Watersports joins BWSW to launch Tow Sports Instructor Court

Maldives Super Transfer Service (MSTS) Watersports in collaboration with British Water Ski & Wakeboard Federation (BWSW) inaugurates a Tow Sports Instructor course on Wednesday, October 19, 2022.

This marks the first ever such course commenced in the Maldives. The course was officially launched by one of the tourism pioneers in the Maldives, Mohamed Moosa, owner of Crown and Champa Resorts.

The course will be held at Kuredu Island Resort, operated by the MSTS Watersports Center. The training will commence from October 19 and last until October 25.

Under the program, training will be conducted by professional trainers from BWSW.

According to MSTS, the training program will focus on safety standards and teaching standards to the tourists will providing Tow Sports such as water skiing, wakeboarding, wake skate and tube towing (such as banana rides and other inflatable rides). Additionally, the course will further concentrate in protection children from abuse in water sports.

Water sports is a popular recreational segment, provided in all local tourist resorts along with several local islands where guesthouse industry booms.

Moreover, MSTS confirms their aim with this training initiative is to build confidence among the water sports instructors and "lay a foundation for the Maldivian youth to build a career in water sports" in the tourism industry. The founders of MSTS are confident this training will create interest among young professionals in the field that will enhance with their career development.

Speaking at the launch event, MSTS front man Maseeh Imad notes the course will enhance career advancement and professional development opportunities for young professionals interested in water sports field in the Maldives. He was hopeful the program will foster interest among industry newcomers as well.

MSTS operates dive and water sports centers in multiple resorts, while it is accredited by the VDWS for sailing and PADI for scuba diving.

The company expects conducting similar training courses along the year in similar areas.
