President Solih attends FIFA World Cup qualifier between Maldives, Philippines

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, on Thursday, attended the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier match between Maldives and Philippines.

The game was held at the Galolhu National Stadium in the capital city of Male'.

In addition to President Solih, Parliament Speaker Mohamed Nasheed and several parliamentarians attended the match in a show of support for the Maldivian National Football Team.

The Philippines Team won the match which was Maldives’ fourth game in Round Two of Group A, with a score of 2-1.

Maldives faced China earlier, which resulted in a 5-0 win for the latter. The National Football Team also lost its game to Syria, with a score of 2-1, but won against Guam with a score of 1-0.
