Bank of Maldives' futsal team United BML on Saturday conquered 6-1 against Club WAMCO in the finals of 2019 Club Maldives Cup. Held at reclaimed suburb Hulhumale, BML's team hoisted the cup for the second time in Maldives' biggest futsal tournament history.

United BML's first win in the tournament was in 2016, and all the players at the time returned to play for the squad that secured the cup in 2019.

The women's championship cup concluded on late Thursday with Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) celebrating after beating Maldives Police Service team in competitive final match, scoring 4 and conceding 3 goals.

Club WAMCO was hindered by its star player Hussain Ghassan Labeeb's suspension from the finals for receiving yellow cards in previous matches. He was instrumental in WAMCO's march to the final match of the tournament.

BML was quick to seize the lead as Ali Hafiz, who won Man of the Match for his performance in the game, scored an early goal in the first half. All of WAMCO's attempts to score were foiled by BML goalkeeper Mohamed Shafeeu's stellar saves.

This resulted in a highly energetic second half.

Scoring two additional goals, Ali Hafiz accomplished a hat trick. WAMCO managed to secure a goal through the efforts of Ibrahim Aswad. The tide of the match did not change, however, as BML secured three additional goals attaining the win for the team.

Ali Hafiz won the title of the 'King of Futsal' along with being selected as one of the five top players of the entire tournament alongside with BML teammates Ishan Ibrahim and Mohamed Shafeeu, as well as WAMCO squad's Abdulla Shaffan and Ibrahim Aswad.
