Villa International High School (VIHS) was crowned champions of the Dhiraagu Mamen under 18 Inter-School football tournament, after the team managed a 2-nil victory over Centre of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), on Monday at the national football stadium.
According to local media Mihaaru, a large crowd of spectators gathered for the final, filling the stands with schoolgoers and parents alike.
Making use of a penalty awarded during the later portion of the first half, VIHS's Ahmed Samah scored the first goal.
CHSE's hard-fought campaign in the second half proved in vain, as Villa's Ibrahim Imran scored the opposing team's second and final goal, smashed into the far corner during the last minute of the match.

In addition to being included in the top 10 players, Maish was recognized as the all-round top scorer of the tournament with 12 goals to his name, while Villa's goalkeeper Hassan Aleef earned the title of best goalkeeper of the competition. Furthermore, Ahmadhiyya was named fair play team of the contest.
