He was appointed to the post on Monday after removing him from the post of Commissioner General at Maldives Customs Services.
It has been reported that although he was transferred to the Homeland Security Ministry, he did not report for work.
Minister of Homeland Security and Technology Ali Ihusan confirmed to Mihaaru News that Maniu had informed the ministry of his resignation yesterday.
Reasons for his resignation are not known.
After Maniu's dismissal, Fathimath Dhiyana was appointed to the post of Commissioner General at Customs.
During the administration of former President Abdulla Yameen, Maniu has served as the President of the National Integrity Commission.
