The KFC outlet in Malé City was vandalized again last night, with the glass shopfront shattered.
A police media official said that the incident was reported to the authority at 04:32 hrs early this morning, noting that the glass shopfront of the KFC outlet in front of Masjid Al-Furqan on Ameenee Magu had been shattered with a stone.
While police are investigating the incident, no arrests have been made so far.
This marks the second time the outlet's shopfront has been smashed within the same week. Late Tuesday night, the glass was damaged by a stone. Police have not yet disclosed whether any arrests have been made in connection with that incident.
Recently, several protests against Israel have been held outside KFC and Pizza Hut in Malé, calling for a boycott of these businesses in response to the ongoing genocide in Palestine. The vandalism occurred after posters calling for the boycott were put up.
Last year, vandals also entered and damaged the premises of KFC, Pizza Hut, and the Coca-Cola godown.
