A new web portal "My Aasandha" has been launched, providing customers with access to all Aasandha services online.
Aasandha has informed that, as of May 15, the recommendation form filled by a doctor for treatment abroad under the scheme will only be accepted through the portal.
The "My Aasandha" portal will offer a range of services including:
• Doctors filling up the recommendation form within the portal for treatment abroad
• Submitting documents for welfare assistance in addition to Aasandha related services
• Check the status of applications
• Submitting additional documents required to continue applications
Users will be able to login to the portal using eFaas, the Maldives national digital identity.
According to Aasandha, it is no longer necessary to visit their physical counters or the "Vira" counters for their services. However, physical application options are still available for those who seek it.
Under the Aasandha scheme, a significant number of people seek medical treatment both in the Maldives and abroad on a daily basis. According to the company's website, a total of 532 individuals have been sent abroad for treatment so far this year.
