There were no problems or abnormalities in the results of investigations conducted after a couple was discovered dead together in their room in capital Male earlier this month, stated Police on Sunday.

Gasim Shahid, 50, and his wife Razeena Ibrahim, 40, were discovered dead in their room on January 8 when family members called the police around 12:45 p.m. after they did not hear from the couple again since they entered the room to sleep the previous night. Neither bore any visible signs of injuries or any other cause of death.

Police spokesperson disclosed that the tests done on their remains did not reveal any problems or cause of death. Hence, authorities have decided to send the samples abroad for further investigation.

Meanwhile, the families of the couple believe that their deaths were most likely natural courses as neither bears signs of injuries or was known to have contracted any deadly diseases.

Gasim and Razeena are succeeded by three children, two of whom are still minors.
