Nepal and India to play in the SAFF Championship finals

Nepal and India move to the finals after the last two matches of the SAFF Championship on Wednesday evening in Maldives.

Nepal played against Bangladesh while Maldives played against India.

Nepal and Bangladesh’s match ended in a draw. The first goal was scored by Bangladesh’s Captain Jamal Bhuyan. Bangladesh later on played with 10 players as goalkeeper Anisur Rahman Zico was sent off with a red card 11 minutes before the fulltime. Nepal scored the equalizer in he 87th minute. The goal was scored by Anjan Bista.

With the draw Bangladesh knocked-out of the competition.

The India-Maldives match ended with a score of 3-1. India's first goal was scored in the 33rd minute by Manvir Singh. Maldives' Ali Ashfaq scored an equalizer in the 45th minute, from the spot.

In the second half, India's Sunil Chhetri scored in the 62nd minute and then again in the 71st minute.

The final match will be held on Saturday, October 16 at 8:00 pm Maldives time.

This is the first time Nepal had earned a place in the SAFF Championship’s finals.
