This marks the third instance where this competent pair secured the championship title for Maldives. The pair had triumphed the gold medal in an earlier CAVA Beach Volleyball Championship held in Lanka in 2022, claiming Maldives' first victory in the history of the sport.
Adam and Saajidh's pair had triumphed the final match of this year's Men's CAVA Beach Volleyball Championships hosted by Bhutan, against Nepalese pair Man Bahadur Shrestha and Dil Bahadur Sunar in two straight sets with scores of 21-19 and 21-17.
Man Bahadur, the captain of Nepal's national volleyball team is renown for his unrivalled experience in Nepal's indoor volleyball. He and his partner had both demonstrated their expertise in a valiant performance before facing defeat at the hands of Maldives' star volleyballers in Group B, Adam and Saajidh.
Man Bahadur and Dil Bahadur's pair had advanced to semifinals after clinching victory over Maldives' second pair, Ahmed Mohamed (Koakey) and Mohamed Ali (Denzo) at a score of 21-10 and 21-16.
Meanwhile, of the two Maldivian pairs who competed in the women's category of the Championships, Aishath Areesha and Fathimath Zeeniya’s pair had travelled to the semifinals. The other pair, Hawwa Raashidha and Aishath Majidha had lost during the group stages.
