Maldives Police Service raided three residences in Naifaru, Lhaviyani Atoll, on Saturday in response to reports of an attempted terror attack.
According to the police, the residences were of three individuals accused of planning to set off an explosive in the island.
Although the police did not make any arrests, they confiscated some items including mobile phones and other electronic equipments.
Police revealed that the raids were carried out under a warrant authorising the police to seize and confiscate assets, documents, information and other belongings of the suspects if deemed necessary.
They stated that they received reports of the alleged terror attack attempt last Friday, and that further investigations are underway.
