Bar Council of Maldives has announced that they are looking to hire a Secretary General.
The Bar Council states that it did not receive a good response to the initial announcement made on August 5. Hence, they have re-announced the vacancy.
The position is offered for a period of one month. The remuneration offered for the position is MVR 40,500 per month, with added allowances, Ramadan allowance and also pension contributions as per the Pension Act also applicable.
Requirements for candidates are;
- Holding a First Degree in the legal field and a minimum of seven years experience as a lawyer
- Having no proven cases at the Bar Council or Courts that may raise questions about the applicant's integrity
- Not be bankrupt
- Having no criminal convictions
The announcement also details the responsibilities of the position, which mainly surround administrative management of the Council and other daily tasks.
The SG must also oversee administrative affairs regarding meetings of the Bar Council's Executive Commitee, and implementation of the committee's decisions.
