Champa Brothers has submitted a proposal to develop luxury guesthouse properties in Laamu atoll with stakes held by locals of Laamu atoll Gan and Fonadhoo.

The proposal letter was sent to the island councils of both Gan and Fonadhoo expressing their interest to develop the properties.

The Vice President of Fonadhoo island council said that Champa Brothers expressed interest in developing a luxury guesthouse property with shares held by the company and the residents of Fonadhoo.

The council is expected to discuss the proposal sent by Champa Brothers this week.

The proposal sent to the Gan council is also yet to be discussed.

Although Champa Brothers has expressed interest in developing a property in the atoll, they have not disclosed their stake in the venture. Reports suggest that the company will enter discussions and commence physical works once the council authorities of both islands confirm their approval.

While Gan already has a luxury guesthouse property operating successfully, there is no such facility in the island of Fonadhoo.

The Chairman of Champa Brothers, Mohamed Moosa (Uchchu), who initiated the proposals also supports various other projects aimed at empowering local communities.

One of the wealthiest tourism ventures in the Maldives, Champa Brothers currently operates Komandoo Island Resort, Kuredhdhoo Island Resort, Meeru Island, Veligandu Island Resort, and Vilamendhoo Island Resort.
