Kuwait Airways, the Western Asian country's flagship carrier announces direct flight operations to the Maldives.
The airline will reportedly launch its flight operation to the Indian Ocean archipelago on October 31.
Operating Airbus A320 class commercial aircraft, the airline will make two weekly landings at Velana International Airport (VIA) initially.
Kuwait Airways is the latest in the Western Asian and Middle-Eastern airlines to launch services to the Maldives. Additionally, United Arab Emirates' (UAE) budget carrier Wizz Air will launch its direct flight services to the Maldives sometime in 2022.
With an observed increment in Middle-Eastern airline operations to the Maldives, tourist arrivals from the region reflect this.
Ministry of Tourism reports an annual total of over 50,000 tourist arrivals to the Maldives from Middle-East so far in 2022. The highest source market from the region is Saudi Arabia, UAE and Kuwait.
