Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) gave away their annual 'Ran Laari Awards' to a total of 17 establishments on August 2.
The awards were handed over by Parliament Speaker Mohamed Nasheed during a ceremony held at Dharubaaruge in celebration of MIRA's seventh anniversary.
Ran Laari Awards 2019 was awarded in six categories.
Ooredoo Maldives, Trans Maldives Airways (TMA) and Universal Enterprises received the award in the Business Profit Tax (BPT) category.
Seven companies took the awards in TGST category including Cheval Blanc Randheli, Four Seasons Resort at Landaa Giraavaru, Kuramathi Island Resort, Intour Maldives, Hulhule' Island Hotel, Four Seasons Explorer and Season Paradise in Thulusdhoo.
Additionally, Galolhu Auto Garage, D Blue Pvt Ltd and Beijing Urban Construction Group (BUCG) won the award in the GST category.
TMA secured a second award in the Withholding Tax category while Bank of Maldives won in the Bank Profit Tax category. Telecom giant Dhiraagu received the award in the State Owned Enterprises (SOE) category.
MIRA has been giving Ran Laari Award each year starting from 2014, celebrating taxpayers who meet deadlines and pay the largest amounts of tax within the year.
