The Ministry of Education has dissolved the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) of Arabiyya School, which was involved in a controversy. A new committee was formed in its place.

Minister Dr. Ismail Shafeeu informed ‘Mihaaru’ that the PTA plays a vital role in strengthening the school’s capabilities.

Therefore, recognizing its significance for the school’s prosperity, they were asked to establish a new PTA committee on 22nd November 2023.

Following this, Arabiyya School elected new members to the PTA and officially informed the ministry of it’s decision on 13th December 2023.

Yoosuf Abdulla has been elected as the Vice-President of the PTA, a position elected every academic year. He is also running for the Naifaru constituency in next month’s parliamentary elections.

Arabiyya School’s PTA issue had escalated previously during rising concerns regarding the deteriorating condition of the school’s old and damaged building. Press conferences were also held by the PTA without the school’s knowledge.
