The government has decided to buy fish without a limit from all fishing vessels queued at Kooddoo Fisheries Complex.

According to a statement from President's Office, arrangements have now been made with MIFCO to buy fish and the procedure is already underway.

It has been more than a week since MIFCO controlled the purchase of fish to a maximum limit of five tonnes of from each vessel. The fishermen went on a strike in Kooddoo yesterday halting the operation there.

According to the President's Office, purchase of fish was re-established after an implementation plan was agreed upon with the fishermen.

"Arrangements have now been made in Kooddoo to buy fish from fishermen in accordance with the queue order. Under the plan, the fishermen have been informed of the order and date of when their fish will be bought," the statement said.
