Dr Vitaly, a specialist in strategic crisis management with over 20 years of experience, officially assumed the role today.
The appointment of a foreign national to lead the state-owned enterprise responsible for managing the Maldives' fisheries industry follows two public announcements for the position. The most recent call for applications was made in September this year.
According to the Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB), the position is offered a monthly salary ranging from USD 12,000 (MVR 185,040) to USD 15,000 (MVR 231,300).
The post of CEO has a four year term.
The position became vacant after the PCB removed Ahmed Samah Rasheed, who was initially appointed under the current government. Samah’s removal came after he was suspended following complaints filed with the PCB.
