Manik and Yasir have requested an opportunity to appear before the committee in their capacity as former management of RDC.
Former management officials of the Road Development Corporation (RDC) have requested the parliament's Committee on State Owned Enterprises for an opportunity to respond to allegations of gross misdeeds during the administration of former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
RDC's current Managing Director Ali Zuhair and Deputy Managing Director Mohamed Asbah Ali Naseer on Monday raised serious allegations against the company's former management at the parliaments SOE Committee.
They said that undocumented transfers of MVR 161 million from the company's funds to various parties via internet banking had been made with no corresponding invoices or details regarding these payments.
In a letter signed by former RDC Managing Director Moosa Ali Manik (Mookey) and former Chief Financial Officer Yasir Hassan, they refuted the current management's accusations.
The letter stated that RDC's representatives made these allegations without conducting any audit or assessment of the company's condition and debt.
