Kaani Hotels has claimed 2.2 percent of the total tourist arrivals into Maldives during the last four months. The four guesthouses of the hotel currently has 490 beds which the hotel assured will increase by next year.
Kaani Hotels, the largest wide-scale guest house business operator in Maldives has generated an income of USD 4.1 million (MVR 64 million) within four month after claiming two percent of the total tourist arrivals into the country.
According to statistics released by the company, 16,900 tourists stayed at Kaani Hotels over the last three months, while the total number of tourist arrivals to the Maldives over the past four months amounted to 772,651. This indicates that 2.2 percent of all tourists visiting the Maldives chose Kaani Hotel as their accommodation.
From the four guest houses run under Kaani Hotel, the most number of tourists had stayed at Kaani Palm Beach with 9,784 tourist arrivals. Kaani Grand Sea View had received 4,313 tourist guests while Kaani Beach Hotel had accommodated 1,672 guests and Kaani Village had received a total of 1,172 guests.
Currently, there are 1,182 tourist facilities in the Maldives. Therefore, the fact that a single hotel chain, accounting for 2.2 percent of the total tourist arrivals is a remarkable achievement.
While the four properties of Kaani Hotels has a total of 490 tourist beds, a guesthouse featuring 350 beds is being developed in Alif Alif atoll Ukulhas under the brand.
Chairman of Kaani Hotels and President of the Guesthouse Association of Maldives (GAM), Abdulla Nasheed stated that the bed capacity of guest houses operating under Kaani Hotels will increase to 940 next year. He further highlighted that the receival of this huge success is owed to their participation in global travel fairs and continuous marketing of their hotel.
"We are participating in every fair and making huge efforts to market Maldives." he said.
