Popular French brand renown for its elegance and luxury, Baccarat is opening a resort in Maldives. While efforts to establish the resort is underway, it is expected to begin operations in 2027.
Popular French hotel brand Baccarat is set to open a resort in Maldives.
The resort is being established in a reclaimed lagoon in Male' atoll. Planned to be built on approximately 100 hectares of land, this resort will feature over 100 luxury villas.
Baccarat is a renowned European brand with a 260-year-old history known for its symbolic luxury and elegance. Resorts under this brand operate in Europe and America, as well as in the Middle East.
Raul Leal, the CEO of the company, SH Hotels and Resorts overseeing this project, expressed his delight at the Baccarat brand's establishment in the Maldives. He remarked that the presence of the Baccarat brand in the country brings great joy and will further promote luxury tourism in the Maldives.
Located just a 30-minute speedboat ride away from Velana International Airport, this resort features 50 water villas and 53 private residence villas. Designed by the American design firm HKS, the resort showcases tropical beauty in its interior and surroundings.
This resort will have villas ranging from 1 bedroom to 3 bedrooms and will sport a private pool in each villa.
The resort will begin operations in 2027 under the name Baccarat Hotels and Residence Maldives.
While the Maldives currently has 180 resorts in operation, nearly 100 resorts are currently under development.
