Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has concluded the reclamation of Huraa, Kaafu Atoll.
The government-initiated project seeks to provide a solution for growing concerns over lack of living space and land to establish new businesses on the island.
According to MTCC, the project cost MVR 105.05 million and includes the reclamation of 23 hectares of land, 152-metre breakwater, 1626-metre revetment, and 150-metres of groynes.
The project was awarded to the company on July 25, 2018 and concluded on March 25 this year. The demobilization of MTCC's equipment was undertaken on June 7.
