Capital Marketing Development Authority (CMDA) has launched its "Investors Week" activities coinciding with the World Investors Week.
A special function was initiated as the kick-off of the activities, which was officiated by CMDA Chief Executive Officer Mohamed Hassan Manik. At the inaugural ceremony, he highlighted the importance of protecting investor rights, without discrimination between retail and institutional investors.
CMDA Investors Week will run from October 3 until 9, which includes special Facebook quizzes aimed at creating awareness on financial literacy and capital market among general consumers. Knowledge sessions particularly targeting collegiate and tertiary students is in the list of activities planned by the authority.
On Wednesday morning, October 5, a special Financial Journalism session was held aimed at local business correspondents and journalists. The event kicked off on Wednesday morning, at Solite Restaurant.
The World Investors Week is organized by International Organization of Securities Commission (IOSC) - the global securities regulators association in 2017, during which Investors Week first debuted.
