Civil Service Commission (CSC) on Monday, October 9, said that new hires for public sector jobs during the transitional process should not be made without prior permission, except for critical or necessary hirings.
The exemptions listed by CSC via its letter to all relevant bodies include, doctors, nurses, teachers, and religious preachers (Imams). Other hirings require permission from CSC with written reason for the hiring.
CSC further said that the exempted occupancies are necessary posts for which the current hiring regulation of the commission will apply.
Additionally, the commission demanded a halt to hiring for vacant positions where successful applicants have not received their offer letters. It was also required to seek CSC's permission before appointing new employees to vital vacancy positions.
CSC further demanded to halt the creation of new organizational positions, seeking applicants for positions under the new administrative framework and internal promotions.
CSC also demanded to halt contractual and wage-based employees as well as consultancy positions.
