Imaduddin School’s Senior Management Team (SMT) visited and explored the house reef of Jumeirah Vittaveli resort under the “Farukoe” program.
The school’s secondary leading teacher Latheefa Hassan said that 16 members from SMT visited the resort on Saturday. She added that the resort had gifted all 16 members environmentally friendly water bottles.
Latheefa stated that they received a great response from the resort.
The “Farukoe” program is an initiation by the Environment Ministry to create awareness among school students of the fragile nature of the Maldives’ reef ecosystems. Through this program, all school students will receive the chance to explore reefs. Imaduddin School announced that, in the future, the school in conjunction with Jumeirah Vittavali will conduct special sessions to take students to the resort under the Farukoe initiative. Since the program started, Farukoe has taken 29 percent of school students on snorkeling excursions.
