After being sent for dismissal several months ago, Chief Judicial Magistrate Ali Adam now faces additional action in another case. The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has taken this step after parliament failed to make a decision regarding his removal following the investigation of two previous disciplinary cases.

Despite both earlier cases being proven against Ali Adam, parliament did not reach a decision to remove him as a judge. The JSC can only recommend removal, and it needs parliamentary approval for it to take effect.

In July of this year, the JSC initially proposed Ali Adam's removal as a judge. However, parliament has yet to make a decision on the matter, causing concern for the JSC.

Given Ali Adam's multiple complaints, the JSC has opted to take a different approach in this instance. Instead of pursuing parliamentary removal, they have decided to reduce his position, transferring him from a senior magistrate to a magistrate as part of the disciplinary action.

In Ali Adam's case, the judiciary committee in parliament has allowed the magistrate to submit a reply before making a final decision on dismissal. This is a departure from past cases where judges were dismissed without such allowances.
