Qunoot recitation in mosques, done in solidarity with Palestine, halted for now

Yesterday’s circular had notified mosques to temporarily cease the practice of reciting Qunoot-e-Nazila at prayer times. This practice was begun to pray for the protection of Palestinians from the adversity of Israel's attacks.

Islamic Ministry has informed to temporarily halt the recitation of Qunoot-e-Nazilah that was recited in Maldivian mosques during prayer times to pray for the protection of Palestinians in Israel's war against them.

Qunoot-e-Nazilah is a dua (prayer) to be recited in the Fajr Salat (dawn prayers) when faced with peril and adversity to beseech to Allah for mercy and benevolence.
