President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Monday, reappointed the Elections Commission (EC) incumbent Vice President Ahmed Akram, into the elections watchdog.
Letters of appointment were presented to appointees by the President during a special ceremony held at President's Office. This marks Akram's second term on the commission.
During this ceremony, Akram took his oath of office in the presence of Supreme Court Justice Mahaz Ali Zahir.
Akram's approval was greenlit by the Parliament on March 18.
EC consists of President Ahmed Shareef, members Ismail Habeeb, Ali Nashaath and Fuad Thaufeeq.
