Over 8000 complaints submitted for flat recipients' list

The Housing Ministry has revealed that 8,602 complaints have been submitted regarding the list of recipients of the 4000 flats under the Gedhoruveriya housing scheme.

The complaint window for the flat list was opened in late February, with the deadline being 12am yesterday.

Of these, 5,236 complaints were submitted via the designated portal, 2,840 via email, and the remaining 526 in the form of letters physically submitted to the ministry's counter.

The ministry said that all of the complaints submitted via the portal were from those who did not receive flats as per the list. The remaining were from those who did not receive flats, as well as public concerns.

The ministry said that with the deadline for complaints now reached, their priority will be review and address all the complaints submitted at the earliest.
