Previously, the awards were scheduled to be held in the multi-purpose hall of the Umar Zahir Office Building on Monday.
The council has not stated the reason for the postponement.
MMC has said that this year's awards have received 88 submissions in 18 different categories.
The Journalism Awards were first held in 2013, with this year's ceremony being the 11th edition.
