Seven people were arrested during a drug operation in Noonu atoll Velidhoo.
The operation was conducted by Police Drug Enforcement, Counter Narcotics Intelligence, and North Police.
Authorities searched multiple residences during the operation, and discovered over one kilogram of suspected drugs, police said.
Additionally, more than MVR 50,000 and US dollars were seized from the suspects.
Of the seven individuals arrested, one was released after a court appearance for a decision on their remand. One suspect was remanded in custody for eight days, while the other five were remanded for five days.
Ahmed Murshid, Abdullah Nishad, Ahmed Asim, Ahmed Naushad, Ali Rasheed, and Mohamed Maaidh were arrested during the operation.
