Urbanco has commenced the task of finalizing 'The Garden' flats in Hulhumalé, with a target of completing the project in six months.
In May, Jaah Investments was given a period of 30 days to complete the remaining work on 'The Garden' flats and issued a 30-day notice to settle the land price with Urbanco. Regrettably, this payment did not occur when the deadline lapsed. As a result, Urbanco decided to assume responsibility for the remaining finishing work.
Urbanco released a statement indicating that they are currently performing finishing work from the 10th floor down to the lower levels of the building. This work covers plastering, putty application, tile and ceiling work.
The company has assured that all outstanding tasks in the building will be finalized within the next six months.
Jaah's 'The Garden' has been under construction since 2017, featuring a total of 83 apartments, including 2+1, 3, and 3+1 bedroom apartments.
Apartment buyers have expressed concerns about the delay in completing the work, which was initially slated for a two-year timeframe. Some even organized a protest in response.
