The Ambassador-Designate of United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Maldives Dr Saeed Mohamed Ali Al Shamsi on Monday, presented his credentials to President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
During the ceremony held the President's Office, the Ambassador conveyed UAE's desire to enhance trade and cooperation between the two countries.
Moreover, the new Ambassador expressed eagerness to strengthen collaboration in the tourism sector, partly by increasing flight connectivity.
President Solih congratulated Ambassador on becoming the first resident Ambassador of UAE to Maldives and the commencing of his first term in the country.
The Ambassador thanked the government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in particular, for their helpful assistance throughout the ongoing process of finding a suitable permanent chancery.
Furthermore, Ambassador Dr Al Shamsi expressed his gratitude for the extremely welcoming reception since his arrival in Maldives and conveyed his positive expectation that existing friendships between the two nations will be further cemented in
