Tekkers Resort Cup 2024 has begun at Crossroads Maldives yesterday, wherein the first match saw hosts and former champions of the South Kaafu Zone, Crossroads defeat Sun Siyam Olhuveli.
Tekkers Resort Cup 2024 has begun at Crossroads Maldives yesterday.
The first match of the tournament from the South Kaafu zone, consisting of teams from resorts located in southern kaafu atoll saw the hosts, Crossroads face off with Sun Siyam Olhuveli. Crossroads had triumphed this match with a score of 7-3 with Shifaz Adhil of the Crossroads team selected as best player of the match.
Crossroads remains the defending champions of the South Kaafu zone.
A charity futsal tournament was also held yesterday evening to initiate the tournament, which saw members of the National Football Team and State leaders compete.
This charity match, which is dedicated to Care Society of Maldives, a non-government organization (NGO) who were also gifted a donation of MVR 10,000 from Tekkers.
A total of seven zones will be participating in Tekkers Resort Cup. The winner is set to win USD 5000, while the runner up team will win USD 2500.
Champions of all seven zones will then have a knockout round. Last year, Velaa Private Island Resort played against St Regis Vommuli in the finals and won the championship.
This year's tournament marks the third instance of the Tekkers Resort Cup.
