Dr Mahmood Shaugee has been appointed as the Chancellor of the Maldives National University (MNU).
Previously Dr Shaugee has served the country as Ministers of Education and Tourism in two different administrations.
The post of Chancellor was last filled by Dr Hassan Hameed.
Dr Aishath Shehenaz was appointed to the post of Vice Chancellor at MNU.
President Dr Muizzu also appointed the Dean of Faculty of Shariah and Law Dr Ali Zahir to the post of Vice Chancellor at the Maldives Islamic University. This post was previously held by Dr Ibrahim Zakariyya Moosa.
