Megachip, a local electronics store, has introduced Microsoft's Artificial Intelligence (AI) product 'Copilot'.

The product is a chatbot developed by Microsoft and launched on February 7, 2023 that is primarily meant to support Microsoft 365 users with automation features.

"Copilot will uniquely incorporate the context and intelligence of the web, your work data and what you are doing in the moment on your PC to provide better assistance – with your privacy and security at the forefront. It will be a simple and seamless experience, available in Windows 11, Microsoft 365, and in our web browser with Edge and Bing. It will work as an app or reveal itself when you need it with a right click. We will continue to add capabilities and connections to Copilot across to our most-used applications over time in service of our vision to have one experience that works across your whole life," Microsoft said announcing the launch back in 2023.

The AI tool which is gaining popularity globally is perfect for working teams.

"For example [you] joined a Teams meeting late. [You] can ask Copilot to give a summary of what was discussed until that time. Copilot replies immediately. And once the meeting is over [it does things like] creating the meeting minutes, assigns tasks and work allocated to individuals," a Megachip official explained how Copilot works.

It also improves overall productivity of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Powerpoint and many other similar softwares through automation while also ensuring the security of digital information being used in the office environment.

For big tasks such as creating business proposals on Word and Powerpoint presentations, Copilot takes just a few seconds. It is also trained to continuously learn while being used, so when it writes an email, it mimics the writing style of the user.

As such, Megachip says Copilot will be the perfect tool to improve productivity and create high quality content easily.

"Our goal is to provide the AI services coming out in the world to the Maldives in an easy and affordable way. As such, Microsoft Copilot has now been launched. Additionally hardwares such as AI ready Dell brand computers, laptop, servers and networking solutions are also available," said Megachip.

While Dell laptops now have a Copilot button installed into it, Dell CPUs now have "Neutral Processing Unit" NPUs introduced to it as well. The use of NPUs is to process the processing tasks needed for the AI softwares without overburdening the CPU, Megachip explained.

While other services offered by Megachip include Microsoft Cloud Computing services which they are expanding, the company says that their services ensure trustable data storage, workflow management and general solutions for offices and businesses which not only ease work, but also cuts costs.

Megachip's services have also been recognised by Micrsoft over the years with the company being awarded Microsoft Partner of the Year Award in Cloud Solutions in both 2022 and 2023.

Megachip has been a major player in Maldives' electronic and ICT scene for the past 24 years and has also gained the title of Microsoft Silver Partner, Dell's Platinum Partner and VMware's Advance Partner.

Megachip currently has a showroom located in Majeedhee Magu in Male', and has also expanded to Nirolhu Magu in Hulhumalé where all services offered in their Malé store is also available.
