Mohamed Maazin on Monday won a Bronze medal from the 100 meter Paralympic category in the ongoing India Ocean Island Games.
Although the athlete fell down about 20 meters into starting the race, he got up and completed the event.
After the race, the visually impaired runner stated that he was aiming for a gold medal.
He went on to say that due to hurting his ankle at the beginning of the race, he was unable to perform his best.
"But I do believe it is a good win for the country considering that this is my first time taking part in such a competition".
