Three Maldivians wanted under Interpol Red Notices for violence that occurred last year have been arrested upon their arrival in the Maldives.
The suspects, Mohamed Sibth Abdulla, Mohamed Ahsam, and Aswaan Mohamed, were involved in an assault with a dangerous weapon in Male' City on September 4, 2023.
The men were arrested at Velana International Airport under court orders after being deported from Thailand. One suspect was arrested on Wednesday, while the other two were arrested on Thursday.
Police said that Aswaan Mohamed has been released on bail, while Mohamed Sibth Abdulla and Mohamed Ahsam were placed in custody pending trial.
