The building in Male' where the Centre for Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) had operated out of for many years is currently under repair and maintenance, with the government aiming to resume education there in September.

The school will be named CHSE-Male'.

Minister of Education Dr Ismail Shafeeu told Mihaaru News that they are aiming to complete renovation of the building ahead of the start of studies for A'Level in September.

"The target is to complete renovation work by the 20th of next month. It will be completed before A'level studies commence on September 1," he said.

The Minister said that the school can accommodate 600 students in one session, with the number doubling if two sessions are taken.

He has previously announced that 1700 students are studying in Grade 10 this year in various schools in Male'. He said then that a government run A'level institute not being in Male' poses inconvenience to many students and parents.

The CHSE-Male' building is located on Lily Magu, behind Aminiya School. Last August, use of the building was discontinued, with CHSE being relocated to a new building in Hulhumale'.

Even though A'level studies will be resumed at the Male' premises in September, the Hulhumale' establishment will also continue to provide lessons.
