Local telecommunications giant Dhiraagu, on Wednesday, expanded its Fibre Broadband and DhiraaguTV services to Maavah, Laamu Atoll.

Dhiraagu's Fibre Broadband, which offers a variety of packages and data allowances with speeds reaching up to 100 Mbps, is presently available to 75 percent of the Maldivian population.

“Our business has a clear strategy which focuses on providing a superior experience to our customers", said Mohamed Mirshan Hassan, Senior Manager Brand and Marketing Communications at Dhiraagu.

"With this new expansion, we are pleased to introduce our reliable high-speed connectivity allowing communities to stay connected”.

Dhiraagu initiated the programme 'Fibre to the Home' in 2016, to provide high-speed fibre services to all inhabited islands in Maldives. Covering over 60 islands, Dhiraagu has the largest fibre network in Maldives.

While the telecommunications company offers the Dhiraagu TV basic packages, which includes channels dedicated for children, for MVR 300, the total cost of all channels is MVR 450.

With access to more than 100 channels in 54 islands, Dhiraagu nears three years as the only IPTV service provider to Maldives, available to over 73 percent of all households.

Dhiraagu has also piloted with private networks to roll out services in islands without fixed broadband services.
