Maldivian Airlines and Emirates Airlines have announced an interline partnership enabling Emirates customers to access 16 popular holiday destinations in the Maldives.

The agreement successfully follows on from 2022's signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two carriers to explore mutual cooperation opportunities.

Under the interline partnership, Emirates customers will have more options when traveling to the Maldives. The agreement helps Emirates customers to utilize both carriers' services and networks on a single ticket while enhancing customer experience.

Customers arriving in the Maldives via Emirates Airlines can now conveniently connect to various popular holiday destinations within the country. Emirates will link to Maldivian Airlines services to access domestic points through regional airports in the Maldives.

Starting from September 15, travelers will be able to book travel itineraries that include domestic destinations in the Maldives through Emirates' website and mobile app.

"We are delighted to establish a partnership with Maldivian to expand our reach into more points in the Maldives," said Adnan Kazim, the Chief Commercial Officer of Emirates.

"By partnering with the Maldivian flag carrier, we are able to offer customers smooth connections when flying to a wide choice of islands within the country via Malé."

Speaking about the partnership, the General Manager - Commercial at Maldivian Ibrahim Hamdhan said, "We are excited to embark on this journey with Emirates, a global aviation leader."

"This partnership would enable us to increase the visibility of our extensive domestic network and it aligns perfectly with our objective of providing seamless connectivity to travelers."

The partnership allows Emirates to fly to domestic airports in the Maldives which include Dharavandhoo, Faresmaathoda, Funadhoo, Fuvahmulak, Gan International Airport, Kooddoo, Hanimaadhoo, Kulhudhuffushi, Hoarafushi, Kaadehdhdhoo, Kadhdhoo, Madivaru, Maafaru International Airport, Maavarulu, Thimarafushi, and Ifuru.
