Allied Insurance signed with Maldives Post Limited to provide its insurance schemes from all Post outlets across the archipelago, and announced that customers can pay for Allied’s services via telecom giant Ooredoo’s m-Faisa service.
Allied Insurance’s Managing Director Ahmed Ameel and Post’s Managing Director Ahmed Shafeeq signed the agreement at Allied’s Special Event held Sunday night to mark the third anniversary of President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom’s government.
Under the agreement, customers can apply for Allied’s insurance schemes at the twenty Maldives Post Limited officers and counters established across the Maldives.
The company already offers its services via branches of Bank of Maldives Ltd (BML) established in various islands across the nation. Meanwhile, Allied’s main company State Trading Organisation (STO) is working to provide Allied’s insurance scheme via STO pharmacies developed in every inhabited island of the Maldives.
Furthermore, Allied also announced during the event that its customers can also make online payments via Ooredoo’s m-Faisa service.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ooredoo’s CEO Vikram Sinha declared that online payments of Allied via m-Faisa is the beginning of the two firms’ strategic partnership. He guaranteed that the duo will provide more joint services for the benefit of the public in the future.
CEO Sinha stated that the Maldives’ geographical make up makes transfer of money across the nation both tedious and expensive. Noting the Maldivian youth’s affinity to technology, he declared that m-Faisa is a means of lessening the hardship of money transfer in the archipelago.
He went on to say that while it would take time to familiarise the public with new services such as m-Faisa, he has no doubt that the Maldives could transcend to become “cashless”.
Ooredoo m-Faisa allows customers to make cash transactions via a virtual account from their mobile phones. The service is operated by total 300 m-Faisa agents established by Ooredoo across the atolls, now available at 180 islands.
Allied Insurance also launched its mobile application offering its online services to both Apple and Android products as well as its new hotline number 1600 during the event.
The largest insurance company in the Maldives, Allied Insurance offers a range of insurance plans including Life Insurance, Health Insurance, Travel Insurance, Expatriate Insurance, Marine Vessels Insurance and an Islamic insurance window under the name of Ayady Takaful.
