Male' Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has set up an odour control system at a sewerage pump station in Male'.

The system that MWSC showed media today has been placed at the Number 4 pump station located on Buruzu Magu in Maafannu ward.

After showing this odour control system to media, MWSC Managing Director Abdul Matheen Mohamed stated that this system has been set up to find a solution for the bad odour from pump stations regarding which they have received public complaints as well.

"Our pump stations are set up in residential areas. There is a bad stench from these stations, for a long time now residents have been complaining about this. As a solution to that, we have placed this system which will clean the air and control odour at 99 percent," he explained.
