Telecommunications giant Ooredoo Maldives on Monday announced the 'NIRU 2.0' Accelerator Programme during its 15th anniversary gala night event held at Hotel Jen in capital city Male'.
The Accelerator Programme is a 12-week long intensive mentor-based learning programme where innovative start-up companies that are working towards social change receive seed funding, co-working space, digital tools and essential technical support from experts to develop their ideas.
Teams gain entry to the programme through a separate event called the 'Hackathon' which is scheduled for April 17 to 18.
Registration for the 'Hackathon' will open in February. Winning teams will gain access to the Niru Accelerator Programme, scheduled to begin in June 2020.
According to Ooredoo, NIRU will connect participants to lifelong partnerships and opportunities even after the end of the programme.
Ooredoo plans to conduct roadshows across the country to share more information about the program and the opportunities it presents for young entrepreneurs.
