ADK Hospital launches science journal, medical application

ADK Hospital on Wednesday unveiled a science journal and a new medical application.

The two products were launched during the inauguration ceremony for the 'Brain and Spine Conference 2019' hosted by ADK Hospital and held on Wednesday at Paradise Island Resort.

Minister of Communication, Science and Technology Mohamed Maleeh Jamal introduced Maldives' first-ever science journal, which is intended for medical practitioners and scientific personal to log and publish scientific research.

ADK's Managing Director Ahmed Affaal revealed that certain research unveiled at Wednesday's conference would be published in the science journal.

"This marks the first instance in which a medical institution of Maldives has published a scientific journal. Our next step would be to initiate research", said Affaal.

Furthermore, Senior Neurosurgeon at ADK Hospital Dr Ali Niyaf introduced ADK's new medical application targeting neurosurgery.

According to Dr Niyaf, the application is meant to provide ease to medical practitioners across Maldives.

"This application will aid in connecting to science and medical personal including practitioners north and south of Maldives. Further, [the application] would allow users to raise queries to neurosurgeons at any location worldwide".

Three workshops are scheduled for the Brain and Spine Conference 2019.

While attendance figures at this years' conference approach 300 participants, more than 40 specialists including renowned neurosurgeons from countries such as America and Australia are confirmed to share their expertise.
